Hey, just looking for some direction here.
I have a cousin who can easily be the next boxing legend. First of all, right now you have to hand it to floyd mayweather jr., Bernard Hopkins, and roy jones jr. etc. for giving boxing something of what it used to have back in the day.....Legendary once in a lifetime fighters.
But, I'm trying to help my cousin get his career of the ground. Boxing, although a struggling sport (mainly because these days there are just too many "ok" boxers, and not enough "legends"), can definitely use someone like my cousin. Fast, strong (can literally hurt you with every punch, wether a jab, or an offbalance uppercut), very artistic with his combinations, hard to hit, a hard chin, a guile like body (like hopkins), tall, pretty decent looking, and the lovable persona that made sugar ray leonard a classy, HIGHLY popular fighter. He's got one crazy training regimen....it's his secret, but, he's definitely dedicated. He's fought alot of fights in gyms, some underground amateur fights, and won them all. A few of the promoters here working in the gyms are either too busy with a handful of fighters, or just, don't have the time to take on a new fighter.
So, what would be the best for my cousin? I mentioned trying to get on the show "contender". Is that a good idea?
Any direction, would be appreciated. Definitely.
